When we enter the village We immediately leave the village again. So small is the village by the river.
When we enter the village We are met by The smell of fish. That is how we know we are in the village By the river.
When we leave the village Women are hanging out of the windows. They wave us goodbye. They chatter and laugh. So simple is life in the village.
When they fast They spread seeds on their bread. When they eat fish They eat the head as dessert.
When they have a feast We have already left the village.
So simple can life be In the village by the river.
When we leave the village We see the mountains. Beyond these mountains The mountains are higher But less green. When we are together again We want to live in these mountains Outside the village by the river.
